P&G To Buy Sanex?

Price tag may top $1 billion.

The Economic Times is reporting that Procter & Gamble is in talks about a possible acquisition of the Sanex deodorant business from Unilever. The deal could carry a price tag of $1 billion, according to the report.

Henkel and Colgate-Palmolive are also interested, the report says.

Unilever got the Sanex business as part of its purchase of Sara LeeCorp’s international toiletries business in December. But it agreed to sell Sanex to get deal approval from European Union competition regulators.
